New Melonies Lake
Had a couple of days together so we set out to the lake...The weather forecast was not the best, but that is the beauty having the roof above the head instead tent fabric...
November 26, 2019
Arrived late in the afternoon...raining and windy. Set up camp on the top of the hill overlooking the lake...
The wind and rain beat on us non stop for the rest of the day...I don't think Beth and Scout ever got outside that day...
I did managed to walk to the water but it was cold, wet and windy... The wind was increasing by the hour...
So I got back to the camp and we stayed dry and warm for the rest of the night... played cards, made dinner, watched TV... life is pretty relaxing.
November 27, 2019
The howling winds were coming across the lake, picking up the speed and hitting us with a full force.... The night was crazy...sometimes we thought we will get blown away from the hill...but we survived...and in the morning when the sun came out...the things started to look promising.
Time for the breakfast...
The rest of the day was pretty relaxing, Beth did some Christmas shopping...
Scout was catching up on his naps after the long windy nigh...
...I enjoyed constantly changing weather, birds and wildlife....
...and made another entry in our travel journal.
We had a good time...stayed warm and dry...enjoyed solitude of winter camping. Later we heard in the news that the storm was was called a "Bomb Cyclone". It hit West coast on November 26, 2019 with a record breaking winds up to 100 miles per hour.
END.
