Triple B - Bumper, BBQ and Blow-Out

It been a long time since Beth and I had some time together. So this weekend we arranged some things and headed up the hill to spend couple of days in the cooler weather.

2017 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2006 Jayco 5th Wheel

We left home late on Friday with a hungry bellies. After an hour in the truck we both were ready for a good hot meal... So, we stopped at Mia's along the Hwy 108. Ordered casadia, burger...beers... why not, we will get to the camp late and most likely will be dark by the time we set up the camp... Then we can have drinks, snacks and don't have to be in a rush to make dinner...

Mia's Pizza

By now we have set up process done to the "T". Beth sets up inside the trailer while I take care of the outside...

Eureka Valley

After cam is set up I do drive around and collect leftover fire wood from the other camps. Stumps are my favorite . We use them as tables, stools, work bench or fire wood...

Timberland and Espolon Tequila

We love the peace and quiet up here. No better way to relax that just lean back and soak in the views...

Camping in Sierra Nevada Mountains, CA

Napping, reading books and doing nothing...is our favorite activities... When I get restless I start raking and organizing the campsite... We like things neat and tight...

The War In The Air

From the day one we kept a travel Journal where we write our experiences and memories about each trip. It's fun to go back and read about things we saw or did or the people we met... I keep illustrations pretty regularly and sometimes even Beth takes a shot. Most of her drawings consist of me around the camp and somehow I always end up topless...

Trucker Pee

Another lazy activity that we enjoy is watching clouds...they were pretty impressive that day. Moving across the sky fast and constantly changing...with a thunder rumbling way in the distance... Pretty sight...

Do Not Do Drugs

We had some friends coming to visit us for a day so after dinned we took a drive to the Kennedy Meadows to have a drink with another good friend of ours who works as a bartender in the Saloon...

2006 Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel Camping

I met Bogio years ago in the trout fishing tournament. What a charismatic persona. If you want to hear some crazy stories from all circles of life come to the saloon, have a drink and talk to him... He has done many amazing things in his life. He is the only true pirate I ever met in my life...and I mean true Pirate with a ship to sail and parrot to talk to...

Premier Camping Trailer

This place is like no other...

Sierra Nevada Mountains, California

Couple of pictures I took around the Saloon...

Kennedy Meadows , California

Keneddy Meadows, California

This was an amazing weekend up in Sierras, even with three brake downs we had good time.

Yes, we had our first series of brake downs. Just like many bad things they come in threes...

First was the cracked bumper. The bicycle rack on the back was bouncing up and down all the way up the mountain so when we got there I noticed crack on the rear bumper... Oh well, could of been worse...

Second thing was a BBQ grill hose. The plastic washer that keeps gas valve sealed broke, so I was not able to connect propane tank to the grill.. Ended up making lunch on the stove. Luckily we had friends coming over later that day so I called Russ and asked to bring us a small green propane tank that fit the grill and BBQ us a chicken dinner... Not bad idea to keep couple of green propane tanks on hand. Never know when they come handy...

Then on the way home we had our first tire blow out... We got lucky and escaped destruction that normally comes with this type of incident... 30 minutes later we had tire replaced and were back on the road...

Generator and air compressor comes handy on the road. Makes everything so much easier...

Bumper, BBQ and Blow Out - Beth called this trip a "Tripple B"

Until next time...
