BRAKE PAD REPLACAMENT

I came home from work early today and decided to replace brakes and tires on my bike. That will be the first time I am replacing brake pads in 2 years or 25000 miles....So first things first propped wood stump under the bike and removed front tire.
There is a little metal clip on the bottom that holds brake pad pin in place. I removed the clip by pulling it with needle pliers. No problems here.
Next I got a little screwdriver and hammered the pin out.
It has a little expansion washer or ring that hold that pin inside nice and tide...so take your time ....
New and old brake pads..
As you can see there is still a lot of meet left on the old pads...I guess I brake a lot with the rear brakes....I will keep the old brake pads, you newer know if someone will need them some day ....I slide new pads in place hammered pin back in place, secured it with a lock clip and that's it...very easy...!
Here is a beauty of the rear brake...there is nothing left but metal ....wow...!
Same procedure here - removed tire, removed lock clip and hammered pin out....
That little screwdriver is perfect tool for this job...!
New Brakes and old ones....
I squeezed every penny from those bad boys....as you can see there is not much left of the old pad compared with the new one....
I'm surprised that I had brakes at all....
The brake pad on the caliper side had metal clip or spacer (not sure what it does) so I removed that thing from the old one and snapped on the new one. Once again slide new pads in place, reinstalled lock ping and clip....and that's it...It was really easy...Took bike for a spin...not much difference in braking but that annoying squeaking that I had for past 2 years with original BMW brake pads is gone!
