CAMPING AT WARD LAKE

Stacie lately have ben talking about camping, fishing... spending some time together. So for this trip I left me bike behind..
17 miles of narrow and twisted mountain road. Max speed 15mi/h and passing other traffic is really challenging
I'm pretty sure we need to go that way...!
Out there somewhere in those mountains we will be kicking back for several days ...catching all kind of fish ...having a good time..
This looks like pretty good lake..
And campsite is perfect ...I think this is it.!
One ...Two...Three...and all done...time for the dinner..
Not sure what's going on here so let's move on..
Making baked potato...the butter is very very important. Actually the more butter the better..
Here is one happy camper..
Stacie roasting marshmallows.. I just do not get it. What's so good about this burned sticky white substance..
While potatoes were baking we got the card game going..

Pork Chops and Italian sausages - delicious!

Diner is served...dig it in!
Ant that is al for this night. Let's go to bed so we could get up early and start catching all kind of fish..
5am next morning someone had a really hard time to get up..
Coffee in one hand fishing rod in another..
Several pictures of the Ward Lake in the still september morning..

...so like three hours later we did not got a single bite. We tried everything but fish just was not biting..
Another hour went by and the frustration settled in..
So we decided to take the brake and explore the local area.
Like 50 yards from our tent we found the giant pile of bear crap ...I know Stacie is going to sleep good tonight..
But anyway, we drove to Florence lake. I was hoping to buy some night crawlers in hope to catch some fish...this was the last and only thing we did not tried yet..
The Florence Lake. 5 weeks ago water was all the way to the top.
Stacie bellow the Florence Dam.
On the way back we stopped here and there to take some pictures.
I was right the Night Crawlers was the food the fish was looking for.
Not bad catch...for 30 minutes..
Let's clean those puppies before the bear comes in to the camp..
My dinner that night was fresh fried rainbow trout..
Our bedroom..
Fresh coffee is a must have every morning..
...and fresh smile..
Saying good bye to the lake..
All packed and ready to go..
Got "framed" by trying to steal some tag from the PG&E pole ...I swear I left it there..
And that's it...just like that 3 day mini vacation was over ...can't wait until the next time..
