TELEGRAPH HILL ROAD

From three day weekend I had only one day to myself ...other two days were dedicated to spending some time together with my wife....so on Saturday morning I joined some friends on a day ride...
Four of us left Merced around 8:30 and headed for the mountains...Phil on his slick street tires...
Tom came all the way from Carmel Valley for this ride....
Drew...the lead dog of this pack....
As we were pulling at the meeting spot (we supposed to meet other two guys), Don pulls in on his KLX 400 ... bad news he just got a flat tire....
Luckily I had new spare tubes and tire irons, Phil had a pump...so guys got to work ...roadside service....
Couple minutes later my friend Steve pulls in...we all ready to go....
By the time Don finished his cigarette the bike was fixed and ready to go....
So we headed in to the hills ...exploring Telegraph Road....
Phil posing on his bike on the Telegraph Hill Road...one way in and one way out....
The road came to the end and it become a trail...not a lot of people know about it or ride this trail, so it's all covered in grass and sometimes hard to tell if you are still on the trail or not....
There were a tree down on the trail so you have to hop over this gap ...pictures do not do a justice here...it was much steeper here that it looks...
Here is another shot of the tree blocking the trail....
A little brake stop...
The weather was perfect for riding....
Back on the road ...heading back on Telegraph Hill Road the way we came....
This all area burned down couple of years ago...it was one of the biggest fires and cost state a lot of money...and it all started from one FMJ bullet....
We were coming from around this corner and Drew hit this cable that were across the road. No flags no signs...you barely can see it...the impact was not really bad as he spotted the cable couple yards in the front of him and managed to hit a brakes....
We came down to Hwy 140 got some gas and headed to Briseburg...next Pilot Peak....
We will be heading up this mountain and try to found the road that will take us to the Pilot Peak....

I did not took a lot of pictures after this as we were riding non stop almost for the rest of the day. Pilot Peak was closed so se did not had a chance to get up there...but we will be back...

Overall it was really good ride in a good company...this is what happens to your potato chips after 200 miles of dirt roads...
