BODIE GHOST TOWN

I set out once again to the solo trip/camping in to the Sierras...
Started at HWY 108 East to the Beardsley lake then Forest road 52 North towards Hwy 4
...right after dam crossing road startss climbing up the mountain.
It is in a good condition and payved...just watch out for those rocks
tumbling down from above and clustering road...

The further you go the worst black top gets...and aventualy it's completelly gone
by leaving you ass on the dusty gravell....

The 37 mile ride on the is road (Forest road 52) is easy, there were several areas
of ruts and rocks but mostly it's all gravell.
It doeas has some nice trails branching off left and right...so if you are not in rush
it is a good place to play a litlle...
I took several to see what's up...but they dead ended in like mile or so....
This spot here had the best view that I seen along this road...

...so I broke my rules and took the picture of myself...that is how you can tell I was bored...
If you looking for a nice views avoid this road...mostly it's covered in pine trees on both sides.
It must be a bow hunting season or something, there were a guy behind
every bush along the road...in full cammo suit, painted faces, deer urine on their boots, bow loaded and ready to shoot...
They were sitting still like a rock...and here I come...big cloud of dust and noice tumbling down the hill side....
I bet they hated my guts...!!! I was waiting for the errow catching up with me and get stuck in my back....
Around 3pm I reached Hwy 4 and headed East...several miles down the road
I stopped at scenic area called "Hells Kitchen"
...spend some time bumbling around,
looking at the bolders that are scatered in this area and comes in all kid of shapes and sizes....

Half an hour later I was heading East....over the Ebboths Pass...

Next came Monitors Pass.... then East Sierras....in it's high desert landscaping....
...I had dinner at Walker River...filled up some gass...and set out to look for a camp site...
The campsites along Hwy 395 cost you $20 ...!
So the cheep ass bastard that I am...
I kept moving and looking for cheeper campsite....Turned on Hwy 108 and headed West
back in the Sierras...
At 9000 feet elevation I found camp spot, nobody around, creek pine trees and bolders....
And the best part of all it's free...I'll take this one...
I slept like a bear....Next morning my bike, tent...grass around me was covered in frost...
I made fire, got my coffe boiling...dryed my tent in the morning sun and set out back on Hwy 108...
Heading East....

Stopped in Bridgeport and got myself.....more coffe...!
From here I set out to Bodie - Largest Ghoast Town in USA...

On the way there I checked some prime real estate of the area...it comes with
Fully Loaded Caravan and a 55 gallon barrel (blue was the only aveilable color so I passed on
this great offer)....
I have ben in Bodie several times before so this time I just lingered around and looked
for stuff that I missed in my previous trips....

...such as:
Roof nails....
...
Custom leather covered parts...
...
...
Martha Stewart drapes...
...and all the other junk...

...I think that is about all...for this time...
I headed back to Hwy 395 and rolled South....
Next stop - Mono lake...beutiful but stinky place...

After walking in the bird, fly and shrimp shit for a half an hour I was more than ready to keep moving....where the air is fresh and grass is green...
I met this guy in the parking lot with beutifull Soviet bike... URAL...we sat and talked bikes for a while...
Hwy 120 West....
I wish I had my fishing pole...
One of the beutifull Sierras lakes...
At one of the stops I met this couple traveling on V-Strom around The North America,
the trip that should last next 4 month...we talked some motorcycles...and exchanged some info...
Just like we all do on the road...( I hope...I think...)

This was the lost stop and shot before ireached my house...
