Sunday...blue sky, sun shining in the valley...my wife has "The Look" on her face while I'm putting my riding boots on ....there is not much conversation going on this morning...all you can feel is a static and sparks in the air ...flies are falling from the air like fried pop corn..... I don't think I will be forgiven any time soon... |

But all this forgotten as I making another turn around the corner...the ride is ON! I do not have to worry about a thing right now ...I'm free like a bird again...and nobody can stop me... The air this time of the year is so refreshing...cool and damp mountain air mixed with smell of fallen leaves and pine needles ...brings me back memories about my home country ....Lithuania.... |

The reservoir has a capacity of 360,000 acre·ft and is formed by the 364 ft concrete gravity O'Shaughnessy Dam in Hetch Hetchy Valley on the Tuolumne River. After a years-long battle against the dam, led by John Muir, the dam was approved under the administration of Woodrow Wilson in 1913 and was completed in 1923. It is owned by the City and County of San Francisco. The primary purpose is to supply drinking water to the San Francisco Bay Area, where it provides 85 percent of San Francisco's total water needs. |

Usually this tunnel has water dripping from above and you get your shoes wet by the time you reach the other end. This was first time I seen it dry.... |

Common to this area white lines in gray granite called - pegmatite's and aplites. They were formed as their magma injected fractures in the newly crystallized granite millions years ago. |

Next I headed South to Yosemite National Park. |

The days are short this time of the year...5pm is already dark and cold ...so I maintained my speed just above the speed limit while climbing to the higher elevation... |

At around 6000 ft I encountered first snow. The roads were clean and mostly dry... |

Ice Ice Baby...! My bike just slid from under me ...I felt like flying up in the air for a second...or two....but then I came back to my sences...wait a minute! people don't fly ...they fall and crash...! I was not looking for this and twisted my throttle to "Wide Open" position I managed to get out of this turn without a crash.... |

After several miles I started to descend to the lower elevation...and the icy roads were soon forgotten... |

A controlled burn on Big Meadow jumped the fire line, run up the hill and jumped the Big Oak Flat road. |
