Once again the morning greeted me with cloudy skies and fog stuck on the tops of pine trees... |

Later in the morning the clouds started to disappear and fog retreated in to the dark canyons ...the sun broke up...time for the road trip to continue... |

After crossing Columbia River ...the state of Washington greeted me with the high winds.. |

...tunnels blasted through the mountains.. |

After I turned on road 30 and started heading North the scenery changed again....desolate woods continued for miles ...hours passed and I did not seen a single car.. |

Finally I figured why...the road 25 to Mt St Helens was closed due to the heavy snow fall...so I had to turn West and use road 504 to get to the park |

28 years later after the volcano erupted mud still flowing in river beds, trees or plants are not growing in the blast zone... |

After visiting Mt St Helens I headed East to see another giant volcano - Mt Rainier, the top of this mountain at 14,411 ft was covered by clouds.. |
