I slept very good so next morning I was up and ready by 6:30am. The weather was much better than yesterday so and the views |
The Hwy1 was fun to ride. Little later the NW wind picked up again and it got cold, so I was glad when road turned away from the ocean and in to the redwood forest at the Rock Port where Hwy1 joined Hwy101 |
The stretch from Arcata to Crescent City I enjoyed very much. I even had a chance to see huge Roosevelt Elk grazing on the side of the road |
The views were breath taking.. |

At Crescent City I waved good bye to the Pacific Ocean and turned East on Hwy 199 |
In one of the rest stops I met 2 guys traveling up North to get a job on the crab fishing boat. Their pickup transmission was broken and gas tank completely empty...it will be a long journey for them.. |
I stopped here and there to take a break and to check some strange things that people build....Shoe House? |
Around 4:30 pm I stopped in the Grasy Flat camp site near Smith River and called the day |
The camp site was nothing fancy and costed me $10.00 for the night. Earlier today I stopped in Crescent City and got me some groceries - Top Romen Soup, Hot Dogs and White Bred ...total of $4.97. The cheapest groceries I got in the long time |
