AURORA MINE

Once again I loaded my camping stuff on the bike and rolled out in to the street...
This may be the last trip over the Sierras this year...the snow will cover the roads soon..but meanwhile..
I rode to the East over the Tayoga pass and enjoyed nice weather
Sorry if I uploaded to many pictures of the Aspen trees...but it's truly breathtaking
One more..
Ok , that's it...let's go back to the business..
So I left High Sierras, Golden Aspen Trees, 4 line Highway 395 for this 10 mile High desert road to the ghost town - Bodie
The place was crawling with a tourists from all over the place, so I kept going...East...Another 41 miles of "Rough Road" was just what I needed!
Bla...bla....bal...
I wonder what king of building was this? It was definitely build by the guy who knew what he was doing...look at those corner lines...And most likely he made his own bricks right here on the spot...with hammer and chisel..
After a couple of miles the road got narrow and rocky..
Sage bushes started scraping my elbows..
Without the rocks there were also plenty of sand..
Once in the while I entertained myself...by taking pictures of my shade holding road signs. Wow..!! Sounds like I started to lose my mind out there..
Miles and miles of high desert.. Even this post called Aurora Mine you are not going to see any pictures of that place - the mine is still running and I did not seen anything worth of shot...sorry...
Hey!! Here is my buddy again ...pointing me to the right direction 25 miles of dirt road.
Those are the mountains that I came from.. and that is the only car I seen on this 60 mile desert road
The car went one way I went another. Later from the Lucky Boy Pass I saw it in the distance making all kind of dust
After total of 55 miles I stopped on this ridge to check the Hawthorne Army Depot that covering pretty much entire valley. I bet they have some real good fireworks not like in the 4th of July plywood stands back in CA.
The Iron Wolf...
Walker Lake could be seen in the distance..
By the 9pm I was back in the Sierras and stopped for the night at Dardanelle's. The night at 8000 ft was chilly but I slept like a bear..
On the way home I explored several fire roads in the Sonora Pass area, but because it's a deer season there was a guy with a rifle behind pretty much every bush I did not stopped much. I bet they hated my guts when I zipped by making all kind of dust and noice...no deer here pal..!!!
