PNOCHE ROAD

I guess I make some people nervous when I hit a road on my F650GS. The problem is not my sloppy driving or supersonic speeds (witch are hard to achieve on this bike) but the fact that even I do not know where the road takes me.
This was the ordinary Saturday morning - let the dog out, make coffee, turn on the PC. thinking what I could possibly do today hmm. 40 min later I kissed my wife and hit the road. Call me spontaneous I guess.

I was rolling on the highway I-5 south when I spotted road sign " Little Panoche Rd." The words " little" somehow sounded grate today and I took the exit. Couple minutes later I was riding east in to the desert like looking country.
The pawed road had several pot holes but other than that - grate road. The traffic was just the way I like it - zero, ups! Wait a second, I spotted several local cowboys! Just like in the old days.
The farder I drove the creepier it got. There were no signs of any life just some evidence of people trying to concur this harsh land. I guess they lost the battle and run away, leaving behind the things they build or brought.

The only thing I saw on the road were dead and dried squirrels - I hope this is not how beef jerky is made.
I drove farder and farder east the elevation slowly changed and I started to feel better as I was not alone surrounded by the death anymore, there were some magnificent looking buffalos, wild looking horses, and the sign stating: " Drive On Your Own Risk".Cool I lake that!
The road got narrow and waindy but it was still in good condition, just watch for the boulders tumbling down and laying on the middle of the road. The scenery was grate with sandstone cliffs, blue skies and the moon. After several miles I reached the historic New Idrea mine with the sign stating: " Population - my" . There are hand fool of buildings including post office, rescue station, bank . pretty cool place.
I bet this old shoe still there. I wonder what story this boot would tell if it could....?
On the way home I took different route home. The road called Panoche Rd. or as the locals call it Jack Ass Rd. Most of the road are unpaved and fun to ride. I passed by several public land areas, the gate was opened and I saw dirt roads going in to the hills, looks like fun place to ride but the sign was stating that only cars are allowed on those roads no motorcycles or four-wheeler' s, too bad.

It is dry country so make sure you bring some water with you especially if you go in the summer time. Other than that grate place to drive.
Fresh kill...
And by the way watch for those rattle snakes!
Beutifull horse...
The Majestic Buffalo...
And happy END
